Below are the activities involving the Art Guild.

August 17 - Guild members are serving as judges for the Sesquicentennial Grand Parade at 2 pm.
August 17 - Art Contest entries should be delivered to Pourville Art Studio between 9 am - 3:30 pm.
August 19-23 - Stop in to Pourville and view all of the Art Contest entries.
August 23 - Art Guild dinner for Wall Dogs - members only. Details below.
August 24 - Art Contest entries should be picked up at Pourville (winners after 2 pm).
August 24 - BOOMFEST Arts & Crafts Festival - stop by the Guild booth to see art from the contest winners!
August 24 - Wall Dog closing reception and auction, Vinton Country Club, starting at 5:30 pm, all welcome.
The Guild will be hosting a Members-Only dinner for the Wall Dogs on Friday, August 23, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Revolution Church. Wall Dog leaders will share their experience with Wall Dog art festivals, mural design, and other fun stuff. Guild members will have the opportunity to meet and chat with the participants of this internationally known network of mural artists. RSVP preferred - email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please bring a salad or dessert to share; otherwise, cost for the dinner is $ 6 per person. Art Contest winners will be announced!
Eligible art work:
All entries must be 2D Visual Arts that can be displayed on an easel or wall (Drawings, Paintings, Prints, Photographs, and flat Mixed media).
1) Pre-K-2nd. 2) Grades 3-5. 3) Grades 6-8. 4) Grades 9-12. 5) Adults.
Entry fees: Children: FREE Adults: Guild members-FREE. Nonmembers-$20, payable at Submission (or pay $ 30 to join the Guild).
Entry limit: 2 entries per person. (Nonmembers: Fee is $ 20 for 1 or 2 entries, either way.)

To submit: Details have changed, read carefully:
Deliver your artwork to the Pourville Art Studio & Gallery, 4th Street downtown, between 9 am and 3:30 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Please bring an easel to display your work, if you can. Children's artwork not on canvas should be mounted on construction paper or something similar to allow room for push pins to display the work.
Entries will need to be picked up again from 9 am-3:30 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019. (Winners art will be available for pick up after 2 pm.) If you cannot drop off or pick up during these times, alternative arrangements must be made in advance. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Judging: Entries will be judged by the visiting Wall Dogs! Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each entry category.
Judges will use the following criteria:
1. Neatness and craftsmanship
2. Creativity and originality
3. Quality of artistic composition and overall design
Display: All entries will be displayed downtown at Pourville Art Gallery & Studio during the Sesquicentennial Celebration 2019, from August 19-23.
Winners will be announced on Friday evening (August 23) at the Wall Dog dinner, and posted on this webpage. Art work by contest winners will be displayed in the Vinton Guild of Fine Arts booth at Boomfest on Saturday, August 24, 9 am - 2 pm.
Winners will also be included in 2020 Vinton Art Calendar!
