I have always been interested in art. Growing up, I spent my weekends drawing and crafting. During a visit to the Art Institute in Chicago, I admired the way the artists could evoke emotion through color and use paint to sculpt dramatic skies. At 14-years-old, this admiration led me pursue painting classes at the CreArtivity Studio in Vinton, IA. Painting quickly became an important part of my life, bringing not only joy but the opportunity to stay connected with other artists. Although I considered turning art into a career, I realized it was passion I wanted to nurture on my own terms. While I currently work as a physician assistant in psychiatry, I continue to embrace the creative parts of myself through art.
